Name: Ashfeather Age: Fourty Five Moons Gender: Tom Rank: Medicine Cat Clan: ThunderClan Picture: {ASHFEATHER}
Quick Description: Large grey and white tom with ivy green eyes
Description:
Ashfeather’s frame is pretty large, if he wasn’t a Medicine Cat, there would be no doubt that he would be a formidable warrior of ThunderClan. However, despite his large body, his fighting skills are a about average, though he is able to defend the kits and sick cats well in a time of need. His claws and fangs are sharp and deadly, even for a medicine cat, these are good weapons if push comes to shove. His eyes are a bright, Ivy green in colour and hold the look of wisdom within them. Ashfeather’s pelt is a solid ash grey in colour and is slightly on the fluffy side at that. He has creamy white markings, on his chest and feet, which can get muddy easily, especially when he is out searching for herbs and the weather is poor, his tail is also long and fluffy with the amount of fur he has. Ashfeather sometimes hates having long fur, especially in Green Leaf because it gets extremely hot, plus, he has to spend a lot of time getting knots out of his pelt. However, his fur is a blessing in Leaf Bare, especially when there is snow on the ground because it keeps him nice and warm day and night.
Personality:
Moving onto Ashfeather’s personality, the tom is a pretty level headed medicine cat and has a pretty calm nature towards those in his clan. He is a responsible tom and is always one to go to if you need some advice, it’s very doubtful that he would turn you away unless your on his bad side or if he’s very busy at the time, though he will try and get around to you after his tasks are completed and is always there if you just need someone to open up to. Around those in his clan, Ashfeather is a easy going tom who is willing to get along with everyone, he is very responsible of his job as a medicine cat and always tries his best to help heal those. Of course, being a medicine cat, the grey and white tom is a loyal believer of Starclan and like all Medicine Cats; he communicates to Starclan and receives prophecies from them. Around other Medicine Cats, Ashfeather is civil towards them even if they are from different clans and is always up for a chat with them if they are at the Medicine Cat Gathering. He always tries to treat everyone equally however, if you are on his bad side it is a different story.
Ashfeather’s temper is not one to be messed with and is known for having a little bit of a short fuse, though he isn’t one to blow up in your face, he does happen to have a pretty foul mouth and a sharp tongue. Though if he does get mad enough at you to lash out at you with his claws or words, you probably do deserve it. He is also known to be quite stubborn and doesn’t like to end things half way through, he always tries to complete the task he is on before moving to the next one. Some may not want to become a medicine cat, for it is forbidden for them to take on mates and have kits, however, Ashfeather doesn’t seem to mind, even though he adores kits, he is perfectly happy with his role in life and wouldn’t change it for anything.
History:
It was a fairly mild Newleaf in ThunderClan when Kestrelwing, a copper queen, had given birth to her second litter in her life. Before her, lay two little bundles one tom with grey and white fur and a small she-cat with hazel brown pelt and a copper right paw. Kestrelwing gazed proudly at her new kits, the other queens in the nursery admired them from afar, as did the current medicine cat, Thistleleaf, a large muddy brown she-cat. After being checked over by Thistleleaf as well as her kits, Kestrelwing was left to rest with her newborn kits. Drifting off to sleep, the weary she-cat went through the names in her head of the two new kits that she was sure would make her proud, Mousekit and Ashkit..
To say the least, Mousekit and Ashkit got on fairly well together, often tumbling around outside of the nursery under the protective eyes of their mother and learning about most of the Warrior code and Starclan as they continued to grow up. Both were healthy and strong kits, though Mousekit was a little smaller than her brother she was a lot more energetic and was always on the go, though Ashkit was pretty playful himself, though it was to be expected from kits. When the two kits were nearly six moons old, almost time to be apprenticed, Thistleleaf spoke of a sign that she had received from Starclan, telling her that she would be given a new apprentice to take under her wing and train to be the next medicine cat of ThunderClan, Ashkit. Such a large responsibility to be taken care of, but Ashkit simply mewed his acceptance to the current Medicine cat. The wise she-cat smiled and went to tell their leader.
Upon reaching six moons old, Ashkit was given his apprentice name, Ashpaw and was now the Medicine Cat apprentice, while his sister Mousepaw was being apprenticed to become a warrior of the clan. At first, Ashpaw was a little bit lonely without the comfort of his sister and mother and the lack of the other apprentices that his sister now shared the den with, however, Ashpaw soon got over the loneliness as he became more interested in the work and since it took up literally all his time, leaving him weary at night. All the work was very hard at first for the new apprentice, however, he soon got used to it as he aged in moons and learned a lot more about herbs and other things medicine cats do.
A memory that still sticks in his mind today was the first time he ever went to the MoonPool with Thistleleaf and the other medicine cats and apprentices, though he didn’t talk that much, he was over whelmed by the beauty of the place and he remembered feeling such a strong connecting with Starclan from there that it almost broke him to leave the paradise. Over his time as an apprentice, he learnt a lot, he was a fast learner and was soon memorised with the different herbs and functions, though it took a little bit of practice and a lot of effort to do so. In his spare time, he learnt how to defend himself in case he would find himself in a situation where he needed to fight, though his strength wasn’t his strongest point, he built up his speed and his knowledge got him far.
By the age of Fifteen moons, Ashpaw was wiser in mostly everything that he needed to know, over the nine moons that he had been with Thistleleaf, he learned a lot and him and the medicine cat had formed a close bond, almost like a mother and son connection as they looked out for one another. However, in Leafbare when Thistleleaf went to collect some herbs to restock the pile in the Medicine Cat den, Ashpaw noticed that she had been gone far to long and a few of the warriors went to search for her. Soon, they returned with his mentor’s body in tow, caked in blood and clinging onto her last breaths. Ashpaw rushed into action, trying to save his fallen mentor, friend and almost second mother, however, she soon passed away leaving Ashpaw more alone than he had ever felt. It had turned out she had been attacked by something in the forest, most likely dogs or a badger and when the warriors had found her, the creature had already left.
By then, the clan all knew that Ashpaw was ready to become the next medicine cat, they knew so before since it was discussed between the leader and Thistleleaf, before she passed away. Ashpaw had matured and grown into a fine Medicine cat and received the name, Ashfeather.
Over the time that Ashfeather has been the medicine cat, he has shown great compassion towards his clan mates and always tries his hardest to help those in need. He has saved lives and also some have been lost and though there has been the downs, there has been the ups and he always pushes through them, speaking to Starclan and doing his everyday jobs. One such memory will always stick in his mind on the day where the leader was killed in a badger attack, the thoughts still linger at the back of his mind on that day. Ashfeather had been with the leader to protect the nursery from the badger raid, the two fought the badgers with the help of some of the warriors and in the end, the leader of ThunderClan took a blow that wiped out most of her lives, Ashfeather fought another battle to save his fallen leader but in the end, there was nothing he could do for his fallen leader. Ashfeather has currently been a Medicine Cat for 30 moons.
RP Example:
Bright golden eyes slowly slipped open, almost reluctantly as he saw the darkness that still claimed the forest. Foxclaw was curled up in the warriors den, his eyes half closed as he scanned the warmth of the area, all the other warriors were asleep, their forms rising and falling softly as they slept. Foxclaw was upon the few that were positioned in the middle with the other older warriors, while the younger warriors slept along the outside. However, under his quiet and rather sleepy gaze he found that someone appeared to be missing from the bunch, the very she-cat that had walked through his short-lived dream that night. Slowly and quietly, Foxclaw pulled himself up to a standing position, his eyes wide awake now as he double checked the area to make sure he wasn’t incorrect, nope, she defiantly wasn’t here. As gracefully as he could, so he didn’t wake the other warriors, he made his way to Crimsonlight’s nest, lightly pressing his nose against the bedding. Her scent drowned him instantly and Foxclaw made a note that the younger warrior smelt sweeter to him than he remembered, it almost made him want to curl up in her nest and drift to sleep, intoxicated by her scent. However, he pushed the thought away as he checked the temperature of her bed, it was cold, meaning she had been away from the warriors den for a while now. Feeling slightly worried about the younger warrior, he weaved around the sleeping felines and stalked out of the den, his golden eyes flicked from side to side in search of the she-cat. Much to his surprise, he found she wasn’t in sight of the camp, a flicker of curiosity and worry sparked in his chest. Where could she be?
Padding through the forest, Foxclaw kept on high alert, his ears perked high and his claws sheathed and unsheathed at random times. The moonlight shone down upon his ginger tabby pelt as he followed Crimsonlight’s scent as he followed it deeper into Twilightclan territory. Soon enough, he found himself in ashen ridge, a part of the forest which had been hit by a fire a while before he had been born, the area gave off a rather sinister effect and Foxclaw started to wonder why the she-cat would have even come here in the first place? What if she was out here, alone and hurt; unable to make it back of call for help? The deputy felt a shiver run down his spine at the thought and he felt a strong sense of protection over the she-cat flood over him. If she was hurt by someone, or something, he promised to take them down if he could.
The area around him was peaceful, despite the darkness and gloom, it seemed like a good place for someone to come for a long think, where nobody would be there to distract you. As he was walking, Foxclaw played over the fragmented dream in his mind again, or what he could remember of it. In the dream, it was a bright newleaf day, he remembered clearly that it was just him and Crimsonlight in this particular dream, though he could not see himself, like it was completely from his own eyes, very real. His senses were heightened in the dream, every touch felt softer and delicate and every scent of the she-cat was amazing, like flowers or sweet honey. He remembered they were both caught up in a playful romp in an open field, he could still hear her laughter chime through his head. Then, the next part of the dream was that he had pinned her down and she was gazing up at him, speaking. However, Foxclaw could not remember what she had said, it was like she was mouthing something though no words came out. The tom shook his head to clear his thoughts, his bright golden eyes squeezed shut. "Get a hold of yourself, geez…." He mumbled to himself, trying to shake these foreign and very confusing thoughts away from his mind.
Suddenly, a snap of a branch could be heard and Foxclaw looked down, realising it was him that had stood upon the twig that caused the sound, and alerted everything that was nearby of his presence. Suddenly, a familiar voice could be heard and he closed his mouth, padding over to the bush in front of him to peer through it. His gaze met the form of Crimsonlight and he suddenly felt relieved that he had found her, he was just moving forward, when she bolted. Foxclaw’s eyes widened as she dashed away, causing him to throw himself through the leaves and into the clearing to give chase to the she-cat. "Crimsonlight!" He called, though he doubted she could hear him, since she had had a pretty clear head start in this chase, she was already out of sight. The Twilightclan deputy dashed forward, his speed picked up a little as he gracefully bounced over a snake that was in his path.
Foxclaw came to a stop as he head Crimsonlight talk once more, padding slowly to a stop as he did not want to frighten her anymore than he had apparently did. Slowly, he turned around a bush to face the she-cat, a rather worried expression on his features as he showed himself, to show he wasn’t a stranger. "Crimsonlight. Are you okay, I was worried about you?" He asked, walking forward a little more, through still a distance between himself and his clanmate. "I’m sorry if I scared you back there." He apologise lamely, feeling slightly embarrassed about making her run off.
